Agreement between Norma Lewis Domestic Staff and the Overseas AgentThe overseas agent agrees to:- Send candidates only from any of the permitted countries as specified by the Home Office to Norma Lewis Domestic Staff. (See "Who may work in the UK " section to the left.)
- Inform Norma Lewis Domestic staff if an Au Pair?s details are sent to any other Agency.
- Only put forward candidates that speak at least a basic level, and preferably a reasonable level of English.
- Explain to the Au Pairs that it will be difficult to place an Au Pair who smokes, and that if or when placed, they must not smoke in the Host's Home, or in front of the Children, unless they have been given permission.
- Explain that it is more difficult to place a Male Au Pair than a Female.
- Check all relevant documentation required of the Au Pair:
- Passport and Visa/ Work Permit if required
- Driving licence
- Medical Certificate
- Personal letter from the Au Pair to the Family
- 4 Passport photographs, signed by the Au Pair.
- Check all the references provided by the Au Pair, and translate them if necessary
- Explain in full to the Au Pair what duties will be expected of them by the Host Family before they arrive in the U.K.
- Make sure that the Au Pair understands the Au Pair Guidelines as set out by the Home Office.(See "What is an Au Pair" subsection of "Au Pairs" to the Left.
- Make sure that the Au Pair understands that
- alternative work may NOT be obtained if there are work permit / Visa restrictions
- the Au Pair knows if they are required to Register as part of the conditions attached to their entry to the U.K.
- if these conditions are not kept, then the Au Pair may be deported immediately.
- Keep Norma Lewis Domestic Staff informed of the Au Pair?s travel arrangements BEFORE the Au Pair travels to England.
(THE AU PAIR MUST NOT TRAVEL UNTIL THE CONFIRMATION OF PLACEMENT HAS BEEN RECEIVED FROM NORMA LEWIS DOMESTIC STAFF).
Norma Lewis Domestic Staff agrees to:- Contact the Au Pair within the first few days of her arrival, and again after her first week, to ensure that she is well and happy.
- Try to sort out any problems the Au Pair may have in settling in.
- Contact the Family to ensure that all is well from their viewpoint.
- Re - home the Au Pair if any problems arise which cannot be sorted.
- Not accept any money from the Au Pair for services provided.
- Pay the Overseas Agent after the time period when no refund shall be due to the Client in the instance that the Au Pair should leave.
This agreement is in effect from the Date listed below, when all parties have signed / submitted it. It is for an indefinite period, for as long as both Parties are happy with the arrangements. Submitting this form by E-Mail /Internet indicates acceptance of the Terms.
