Applicant Information

I am proud of my reputation of providing calibre staff to discerning Clients, both of whom appreciate the level of friendly, professional and personal service I provide.

As my applicant, you can be sure that you will be employed by a Family where things feel right for you both, and where you are a good match to each other.
This is because I run my Domestic Staff Agency personally, and take the time to speak to a Family at length, in order to get to know them, their personalities, and their Household, so that I can fully understand their requirements, before sending you there.
I then take the same amount of care in interviewing and getting to know you, the Applicant.

However, please be aware that I do not register everyone who applies to my Agency, and I have certain requirements that must be met by you.

• I will only accept applicants with an absolute minimum of 2-3 years experience (in the UK) within the same field as they are seeking employment.
• You must be able to provide references from your previous UK employers -I will not consider anyone for registration without them. The references show your suitability as an applicant for a particular position, and also are an indicator of whether a future employer could expect to find you honest and trustworthy.
Therefore you would need to supply me with both reference letters (which will be verified), and confirmation of contact details of former employers to your interview.
• You must have a very good standard of spoken and written English.
My Nannies may be expected to keep Nanny Diaries, and would definitely need to read with children, encourage their language development, often assist with homework, and speak to other Nannies to arrange play dates etc.
My House keepers are expected to be able to both read written instructions, follow verbal instructions, compile shopping lists, keep records of household budgets etc, and perhaps read recipe books.
As  Companions, you would be expected to hold an intelligent conversation with your employer, share their interests, and keep him / her company watching TV, at the shops, hospital appointments, and perhaps go on other outings with them.
N.B. I do not supply Care Staff.
• You will need to have a CV.
The is the first impression that you will give of yourself - so it is important to make sure that you provide an accurate and very detailed work history, explaining both your current and past duties and responsibilities.
Applicants with a very “busy” CV, with lots of different jobs in your background will probably not be accepted by my Agency, unless there are very valid reasons why you have “moved around” the job market.
I find that most of my applicants are glad of the help I give in representing their CV to my Clients – but you must have a CV ready in the first instance.
• We also prefer that you supply us with a current police check/enhanced disclosure form. (CRB) Of course in the case of companions they are “non portable”, but at least are a good indicator of your character. I can of course apply (but not pay) for an updated CRB check for you, if a Client requests it.
